Given that the Employer Best Practices Toolkit is a part of an overarching initiative to address systemic sexual violence in our society, it’s important that we acknowledge the disproportional impact that sexual violence has on Indigenous women and girls as discussed in the final report on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls released in 2019. Addressing sexual harassment in the workplace, mindful of these disparities, and with the view that providing trauma-informed responses and culturally safe environments to work in are incremental steps that employers can take to further calls to justice coming from the 2019 final report.
